Natural Magick Shop uses and extensive array of essential oils.
Essential oils are distilled from plants, woods, flowers, resins, etc., so they are naturally-derived products. Fragrance oils or perfume oils are synthetic products from a laboratory, and are man made products. If you want these, you will find them clearly distinguished as fragrance oils on my Perfumes page.
I get my essential oils from highly trusted suppliers who buy their stock on the international market. I don't always buy the absolute highest quality essential oils, but I do when it really matters! For blending into my Spirit Guide oils, Deity oils, and Magick oils, I try to stike the optimum balance between value and quality. If you are making your own potions, these are as high quality as you need to get a good value and product. I have hundreds of essential oils, so if you don't see what you are after in this section, ask and I probably have it, and I will quote you a price to buy from my Special Orders shopping cart. If I don't have it or you want bulk quantities, I can probably get it for you within a week or two.
Basil essential oil.
This Basil essential oil is a high-quality mid-grade product. It is very strong green Basil-y smell with a Licorice-y note and blends very well. Basil is very much used in magick for money, abundance, and prosperity. It also has widespread use in happiness formulations and in combinations to promote harmonious interactions.
Bay Leaf essential oil.
This Bay Leaf essential oil is a high-quality mid-grade product. It is very strong Bay Leaf smell and blends well with woodsy and spicy scents. This is Bay Leaf from the Bay tree, Lauris nobilis. Many vendors sell/mislabel the West Indian Bay (Pimenta racemosa), which is from a seed closely related to Allspice (Pimenta officinalis) as Bay Leaf essential oil. This is one product where you should trust a Botany Geek!
Cedarwood Himalayan essential oil.
Himalayan Cedarwood (Cedrus deodora)is a thrifty essential oil to give depth and fullness to many blends. Sweet, woodsy and resinous, it is related to the ancient Cedars of Lebanon (Cedrus libani) and has almost identical magickal properties. You will find many reasons to use this delicious oil.
Cinnamon Leaf essential oil.
This Cinnamon essential oil is a high-quality mid-grade product. It is very strong Cinnamon-y smell with a very slight Camphor-y note and easily overpowers any blend, so use it very sparingly. Cinnamon is very much used in magick for money, wealth, lust, attraction, energy and personal power.
Clary Sage essential oil.
Clary Sage is neglected in some of my favorite magical texts. This is unfortunate because it has ancient Grecco-Roman uses. Primarily, it is used for clear vision. This is because of its traditional use, which says that you can use a seed of Clary Sage to remove anything irritating stuck in your eye. According to this old remedy, if you soak a seed, it develops a slimy mucilaginous coating. Then it is placed in the eye, where the mucilage attracts and sticks to whatever mote is causing discomfort. The seed and all can then be easily wiped out of the eye. The mucilage itself is probably soothing to the injury.
Clove essential oil.
This Clove essential oil is a high-quality mid-grade product from Madagasgar. It is very strong spicy smell and is best in small amounts in blends. Clove e.o. easily overpowers other scents, so take it easy. Clove is used in magick for money, love, and psychic powers.
Cypress essential oil.
Cypress is a very useful ingredient in magickal potioneering because it brings a rare combination of female Saturnian energies to the palate of perfumes. Cypress has a long list of magickal uses as well: protection, longevity, grief processing, healing, and justice.
Frankincense essential oil.
This Frankincense essential oil is a high quality. I don't always use the highest quality essential oils for my blending, except for when it really counts, and Frankincense does count! It blends well with just about any other scent, but it is easy to overpower its fragrance. Frankincense also works "behind the scenes" of any blend, harmonizing otherwise disparate ingredients, and serving as an excellent fixative.
Galangal essential oil.
Galangal essential oil is not that easy to come by for the retail customer, so I have included it here for anyone who wants to formulate their own Thelemic Abramelin oil or other occult formulation. Galangal, also known as "Low John" "Chewing John" "Little John to Chew," has many magickal uses in Western Occultism and Southern HooDoo traditions.
Geranium bourbon essential oil.
This Geranium Bourbon distilled from Pelargonium graveolens Geranium, is a high-quality high-grade product. You will find myriads of magical and mundane uses for this essential oil. While still quite "rose-y" smelling, this variety has more leafy and green notes than my Rose Geranium. I believe it has more Air Element in it. Geraniums in general are used for protection because of the hand-shaped palmately compound leaf, and a lot of them have red flowers. The freshness of the scent makes it go well in purification and healing formulas as well. The rose-scented ones will be used much like Roses are used in magick, especially for love.
Geranium rose essential oil.
This Rose Geranium distilled from Pelargonium rosea Geranium is a high-quality high-grade product. You will find myriads of magical and mundane uses for this essential oil. This variety is the most "rose-y" smelling of all the Geraniums. Geraniums in general are used for protection because of the hand-shaped palmately compound leaf, and a lot of them have red flowers. The freshness of the scent makes it go well in purification and healing formulas as well. The rose-scented ones will be used much like Roses are used in magick, especially for love.
Ginger essential oil.
This Ginger essential oil is a high-quality high-grade product. It has very strong Ginger smell and easily overpowers other scents, so use it in small quantities. Ginger is used in magick for energy, magickal power, inspiration, money, and for quickening results. Ginger is also used widely for general healing in all cases except high heat conditions.
Jasmine, Real Jasmine Absolute, 10% in coconut oil (perfume).
I have yet to meet a synthetic Jasmine that didn't give me a "Third Eye Headache," the icky ache in your forehead that many people get from synthetic fragrances. So for this I will stick to the Real Thing. My Jasmine is a true absolute of Jasmine, Jasminium sambaac diluted in fractionated coconut oil enough to be a affordable as a single-scent perfume.
Lavender essential oil.
This Lavender essential oil is a high-quality mid-grade product. It is very strong Lavender smell and blends very well. Lavender is very much used in magick for cleansing, blessing, calming and is especially good for closing the Third Eye down for psychically oversensitive people.
Lavender, high-altitude French essential oil.
This French high-altitude Lavender essential oil is a high-quality high-grade product. It is the top of the line. It is very balanced but strong Lavender smell and blends very well, However, this is the Lavender to use when you intend to use it "neat" without blending. It has a fuller, more balanced aroma than my mid-grade Lavender. Lavender is very much used in magick for cleansing, blessing, calming and is especially good for closing the Third Eye down for psychically oversensitive people. Lavender is also used widely for general healing and specifically to quell high heat imbalance.
Lemon essential oil.
Lemon essential oil is a thrifty and potent ingredient for magickal as well as household formulations. This is a high quality mid-grade Lemon essential oil from California. Use it in any products for cleansing, on the magickal and mundane levels. Lemon is also used for love, fidelity, and friendship.
Myrrh essential oil.
This Myrrh essential oil is a high-quality mid-grade product. It has a deep, mellow Myrrh smell and blends very well. If you buy a bottle of this and let it age for six months to a year, it would improve to a high-quality product, because this essential oil improves with age.
Neroli essential oil.
Neroli is a precious essential oil. It is expensive, but a little goes a long way. You will be amazed at how just a few drops will bring a formula to life. Neroli is the scent of the flower of the Bitter Orange, so it shares some of the Solar planetary and Fire Elemental aspects of its plant. However, I believe that Neroli distills the Air portion out of the Fire, and Venus arises from its Sun.

Orange essential oil.
Orange essential oil is a basic that will find its way into many magickal, household, and aromatherapy potions. Orange is used magickally for luck, money, love and success.
Patchouli essential oil.
This Patchouli essential oil is a high-quality high-grade product. It has a deep, pungent Patchouli smell and blends very well. I feel very lucky to have the source for this excellent well-aged dark Patchouli essential oil. We may never get Patchouli e.o. as good as it was in the 70's, but this one is close as it gets.
Peppermint essential oil.
Peppermint is a relative of Spearmint with a bigger bite. This is a redistilled high quality mid grade Peppermint from the Pcific Northwest US. It is stilled a bit more complex than most ultra-distilled candy-type Peppermint oils, so you can tell it came from a plant!
Real Rose absolute, 10% diluted in coconut oil.
There is no way to overestimate the value of real Rose scent for harmonizing, calming, relaxing, and simply enjoying life. Here I have taken the very pricey true Rose absolute and diluted it enough (now in fractionated coconut oil) to be affordable, safe to apply directly to the skin, and easy to apply. I very often use this diluted form in my own potions, because sometimes you don't even need a whole drop in a 1/2 oz. formula.
Rosemary essential oil.
Rosemary essential oil is indispensable in household, aromatherapy, cosmetic, and magickal formulations. This Rosemary is a Cineole-type, less camphor-y smelling, and is a high quality high-grade product. In magick, Rosemary is used extensively for healing, protection, mental powers, magickal energy, love and purification.
Spearmint essential oil.
This Spearmint is from Oregon and is light, very minty fresh, and a bit more complicated than some of the overly-distilled Spearmints. It is a high-quality mid-grade product, and blends well with many other essential oils. Spearmint is especially good in healing formulas. It is also a workhorse for money spells. They call the place where money is made a "mint" for very good reasons! Because it is powerfully corresponded to the planet Venus and the element of Water, Spearmint is also very useful in love potions.
Vetiver essential oil.
This Vetiver essential oil is a high-quality mid-grade product. It is very strong grassy smell and blends very well, especially with Rose and green leafy smells. It is fixative, harmonizing, and can perform as either a mid note or bottom note in formulations. It is very sticky and sludgy, and will take awhile to blend into base oils. Vetiver is very much used in magick for money, prosperity, love, and anti-hex spells.
Ylang Ylang complete essential oil.
This Ylang Ylang essential oil is a good-quality high-grade product. Ylang Ylang complete is the combination of the first, second, and third distillations of this tropical flower. The second and third distillations are considered lower quality, but when all three are combined, it makes a very full and complex scent. This is the one you will use when you want Ylang by itself. Highly feminine and seductive, Ylang Ylang will be great for women's perfumes for love, seduction and lust. It is stronger and has more staying power than many other florals.
